AMFEK(Art Major Faculty Exploring K-arts) is a short term fellowship program to invite art educators and professionals from around the world to Korea, aimed to promote artistic and cultural network and cooperation. As part of Cultural Partnership Initiative by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Korea, around 20 institutions join the initiative every year to provide their own specialized programs along with a joint orientation and cultural programs. Since 2006, artists and experts from Asian countries have been invited to K-Arts AMFEK Program. From 2009, the university expanded its area to Africa, Latin America and East Europe, to join this program and broaden the scope of arts and culture exchanges. Invited professors, artists or administrators build a partnership in arts and culture education with K-Arts resources including students and faculty: by participating in special lectures, workshops, performances, exhibitions, production and research.
Participants are offered various opportunities to learn about Korean arts and culture during their stay. At the same time, participants' activities in Korea will also help Korean students and the public to understand other cultures. Participants should have a language proficiency in English or Korean. During the 5-month stay in Korea, all living and activity expenses will be covered by AMFEK.
